MADAME TUSSAUDS: IMMORTALIZING THE BEATLES

For over 200 years, London’s iconic Madame Tussauds and its global locations have showcased lifelike tributes to history’s biggest icons and pop culture legends.

Madame Tussaud's has been a staple of London tourism since its debut in the 1830s—a decade often cited as the birth of the city's travel industry.

The Beatles actually made history there on March 28, 1964, when they became the very first pop group to be cast in wax.

Those same figures eventually played a starring role in music history nearly three years later, when they were borrowed to appear on the legendary cover of the Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band album.

Fueled by its initial commercial triumphs, Madame Tussaud’s quickly evolved into a household name, leading the way in creative marketing techniques during the early days of the advertising world.

Managed by Merlin Entertainments, a UK-based leisure group, the museum has expanded globally to four continents, starting with its first international site in Amsterdam in 1970.
