In July, the John Lennon estate released an expanded and elaborately detailed Ultimate Edition collection of Lennon’s 1973 solo record,
The package Mind Games Super Deluxe Edition box set, earned a Grammy nomination for Best Boxed or Special Limited Edition Package.
MIND GAMES Super Deluxe Box:
As innovative as it is elaborate, the box is presented in a 13-inch cube, a Perspex reproduction of Yoko’s 1966 artwork “Danger Box.” Once lifted, four sides, featuring artwork from Mind Games on shiny Mirror Board, fall to reveal nine individual boxes of various shapes and sizes interlocked together, each with its own look and focus.
No stone was left unturned and no detail was spared in the creation of this interactive, multi-layered mind exploration bursting with elements of John and Yoko’s lives. Hidden throughout the comprehensive and creative set are many Easter Eggs, some of which can only be revealed by using an included UV flashlight to see them, along with loads of other hidden secrets, surprises, puzzles, and “mind games.” Some of the many items included are maps with beautiful illustrations of John & Yoko by famed illustrator Ed Fairburn, hologram-engraved vinyl, vinyl featuring Zoetropes, a coffee table book, an astrology star map, Nutopian citizenship assets including a flag, ID card and embassy plaque, reproduction of John’s “You Are Here” artwork, and much more.
