Keith Richard sets the record straight in the latest interview, saying the matter was already resolved.
According to Variety, Paul McCartney reached out to the guitarist that everything is good between the two rival bands.
"I'm not sure I should say it, but they're a blues cover band, that's sort of what the Stones are," he noted.
In addition, Paul McCartney said their "net cast was a bit wider" than the rival group.
Today, speaking on an episode of the Rolling Stone Music Now podcast, Richards revealed that the singer made a big move by sending their band a note, explaining his side of the story and clearing any confusion.
Paul McCartney clarified his comments, saying he was "taken totally out of context" as his statement was rooted from his first thought when he first heard Rolling Stones.
Richards revealed he had known the musician for years, and his initial reaction to the comments was, "there's been a lot of deleting and editing going on here."
He then received a message from the singer, asking the band to "believe" him as the article was taken out of context.
"Paul's a great guy, man. I mean, Jesus Christ, look at the songs he's written," Richards added. You can’t knock a guy like that. We let little things come
out in the press and kind of ignore ‘em.”
