Hello and welcome to the August issue of 'What's That You're Doing?', the monthly newsletter from PaulMcCartney.com
The
big news of the month is that Paul is getting back 'Out There' having
announced five new shows in North America. The tour leg will see Paul
play in Columbus, State College, Toronto, Detroit and Buffalo (his first
visit to the city!). Tickets are now on sale for all five dates. If you
go to any of the shows and use social media, remember to use the #OutThere hashtag so fans from around the world can follow the fun!
With Paul heading back out on tour, it was perfect timing that
publicist Stuart Bell published his third dispatch from the 'Out There'
tour, taking in the recent European dates. Read Stuart's 'For Whom The Bell Tells: 2015 Touring - Part Three' HERE! (Read Part One HERE! And read Part Two HERE!)
We also published a new collection of photos curated by Paul with
tour photographer MJ Kim this month. The images are taken from Paul's
inaugural headline appearance at the Lollapalooza festival. Check out the photos from Lollapalooza HERE!
Paul published the second in his new art series 'Paintings on the
Wall' earlier in the month. A big fan of the arts, Paul's new feature
sees him discussing his favourite artists and in this latest instalment
he reminisces about how Pablo Picasso inspired him to write the songs
'All Day' and 'Picasso's Last Words (Drink To Me)'. Read 'Paintings On The Wall - Pablo Picasso (1881-1973)' HERE!
As you may know, Tug of War and Pipes of Peace
will be reissued on Friday 2nd October as the latest releases in the
Paul McCartney Archive Collection. To celebrate, Paul is on the cover of
Uncut discussing the albums and we are giving away a free download of
'Take It Away [Single Edit] (2015 Remaster)' through the website. The
track does not feature on the Tug of War reissue and PaulMcCartney.com is the only place you can get this! Get your free of Download 'Take It Away [Single Edit] (2015 Remaster)' HERE!
August saw us update Paul's official merch store with a new summer
range of items including t-shirts, patches, tins, a guitar strap and Venus and Mars
umbrella (in case you live in a country that has temperate summers like
Britain!). To mark the release - and for a limited time only - we have
created exclusive bundles giving you up to 20% off selected items! Check out the new range of Paul McCartney merchandise HERE!
We are also working on improving how PaulMcCartney.com and the
Maccaboard work. If you haven't already taken part, we'd love to hear
your thoughts. Take part in the Paul McCartney Online Survey HERE!
And this month's 'You Gave Me The Answer' has been taken over once
more by PaulMcCartney.com! We've been working hard on the Tug of War and Pipes of Peace reissues and wanted to ask Paul what it was like working with a hero of ours; Stevie Wonder! Find out how Paul found working with Stevie Wonder HERE!
