Art Exhibit Accompanies McCartney’s Sold-Out Concert
Across the Street at the Wells Fargo Center
A series of rare,
hand-signed, lithographs by music legend Paul McCartney will be featured in a
free exhibit at XFINITY Live! Philadelphia beginning at 4 p.m. on Sunday, June
21. All pieces in the exhibit, which includes “Chief Rug” (McCartney’s first
art piece in 10 years), will be available for purchase.
The exhibit will close
one hour after McCartney concludes his sold-out performance at the Wells Fargo
Center that same evening. While tickets are required to attend the concert, the
exhibit is free to attend and open to the public.
"I like theses earth colors. I like what happens when you water them down a bit, the nice earth colors. I know i have said it before, but soil and the earth are very important to me. Living on a farm, a love of nature as a kid, so it should be important. It is all over the whole surface of our planet, which makes it pretty important, really. So these colors attract me".............. Paul McCartney
BIG
MOUNTAIN FACE
In total, Paul has released seven
lithographs, five of which will be featured at the exhibit, making it the most
hand-signed Paul McCartney lithographs ever displayed in Philadelphia. The names
of the pieces that will be on display also include: “Big Mountain Face,” “Egypt
Station,” “Ancient Connections,” and “Beach Towels”. This exhibit will be the perfect way to celebrate McCartney’s return
to Philadelphia after five years and his “Out There” tour.
