Zak Starkey has been running through rehearsals with The Who.
Both Daltrey and Starkey have put out public statements confirming they will be taking the stage together in the near future.
Representatives for both camps verified to Variety that these reports are accurate.
During a solo show at the Encore Theater in Las Vegas on Wednesday night, Daltrey mentioned to the crowd that he had recently jammed with Zak and noted it "sounded fantastic," per a recap published the following day by the Las Vegas Review-Journal. On social media, Starkey shared a screenshot of that specific section from the paper's review, adding his own caption:
“Nice one Rog x. Lookin forward to tearin it up with The Who again..The rehearsal was great.. I don’t think we’ve ever rehearsed as tough as that .. usually we drink tea and talk about what time we’re going home!”
Zak later provided a more formal comment to Variety: “We rehearsed for an afternoon and were absolutely on fire, I’m so happy to be back playing the music I love with people I love. It’s good to be home.”
Roger Daltrey explained that the band had organized the trial run to ensure they were fully dialed in for an upcoming farewell tour across Europe.
