On Good Friday, April 12, 1963, The Beatles headlined an eight-hour "Rhythm and Blues Marathon" at the legendary Cavern Club in Liverpool.
The event ran from 4:00 PM to midnight and featured a lineup of eight other local bands, including The Fourmost and The Dennisons.
Notably, this was the Beatles' penultimate performance at the venue that helped launch their career. During the long wait backstage, Eddie Perry of The Dennisons was inspired by watching John Lennon, leading to the creation of his band's first single.
The Beatles would make their final appearance at the Cavern just a few months later, on August 3, 1963.
