Established in the 19th century, Ye Cracke has long been a fixture of Liverpool’s cultural landscape, famously serving as a frequent gathering spot for John Lennon and Stuart Sutcliffe during their days at the nearby Liverpool College of Art.
However, the historic Rice Street pub is currently at the center of a neighborhood dispute following its acquisition by Ye Cracke Incorporated Ltd last year. Since reopening in September after a six-month renovation, local residents claim the atmosphere has shifted from a tranquil community local to a source of "unbearable" noise.

Ye Cracke played a deeply personal role in John Lennon's history; it was the place he sought refuge upon learning of his mother Julia’s tragic death, and it was also where he took Cynthia for a drink following their first meeting at a college dance.
The tension has escalated as the new management seeks city council approval to convert the building's former cellar into a customer area. Neighbors have voiced formal objections to Liverpool City Council ahead of a Tuesday licensing hearing, arguing that expanding the pub's footprint into the old storage space will inevitably draw larger crowds and further intensify the disturbance.
