RINGO STARR ENTHUSIASTIC ABOUT UPCOMING FOUR-PART BEATLES FILM PROJECT

Ringo Starr has expressed his considerable excitement for the ambitious, four-part cinematic event about The Beatles, collectively titled The Beatles – A Four-Film Cinematic Event.

In a recent conversation with the syndicated ABC program On the Red Carpet, Starr described the project's concept as "mad." Director Sam Mendes is developing four distinct yet interconnected films simultaneously.

Ringo noted that the separate biopics will be heavily interwoven, explaining that characters will appear in each other's stories—for example, he expects John to be in his film, he'll be in Paul's, and so on. He confessed he doesn't know exactly how Mendes plans to pull it off, but he's captivated by the entire idea.

The roles of the Fab Four have been cast, with Harris Dickinson portraying John Lennon, Paul Mescal as Paul McCartney, Joseph Quinn as George Harrison, and Barry Keoghan stepping into the role of Ringo Starr.

Ringo also shared details about his meeting with Keoghan, the 33-year-old Irish actor known for roles in The Banshees of Inisherin and Saltburn

Keoghan is currently learning the drums for the part. "I invited [Barry] to the house when he was in L.A., and he was so great to hang out with," Ringo stated.

He offered a piece of drumming advice to the actor: "don’t have too many" drum lessons, a suggestion he gives to everyone. Ringo's reasoning is that excessive training can turn a drummer into a "machine," which loses the necessary organic feel.

Furthermore, Ringo spent two days with director Mendes in London to review the script for his specific biopic. He found inaccuracies in the initial draft, which a hired writer had put together. "I said, ‘That’s not me. That’s nothing that happened,’" Starr recalled telling Mendes. Fortunately, Mendes was receptive to the feedback. Ringo was pleased that the director was "fine about it," and they were able to eliminate "a few pages" to ensure the story's historical accuracy.

Overall, Ringo Starr concluded that he is just as eager as the public to see the final four movies and the crossovers between them.
