THE BEATLES IN CENTRAL PARK, NEW YORK - PHOTOS


Before their groundbreaking performance on The Ed Sullivan Show, The Beatles — escorted by mounted police — explored New York City’s famed Central Park. Only three-fourths of the band partook in the expedition; George Harrison was recovering from a sore throat.

    The photos look to be backwards - or maybe the negatives were flipped. Kind of eerie to see John on the one when they are touching their hair. Directly behind him is the Dakota, where he would die 16 years later.
