BOOK:BOHEMIA by VERONICA CARNABY (INSPIRED BY ICONIC ARTIST INCLUDING THE BEATLES)

Brief Blurb: In her debut novel, Veronika Carnaby picks up where the Beat Generation left off. Set in 1960, Bohemia chronicles a group of twenty-somethings who defy the "ideals" of a mid-twentieth century society to seek creative fulfillment. In the process, they spotlight the creative path that artists of all mediums tread, all the while depicting the challenges faced by youth in the decade that changed the world.

Inspired by iconic artists of the era including The Beatles, Bob Dylan, and Buddy Holly, the music scene remains rooted at the core of the story with characters deeply involved in rock 'n roll and folk. Fans of the Fab Four may recognize both direct and indirect references to their Hamburg Days, their many stints in and around England, their influential fashion, and other significant markers of their career. Readers can expect a story chock full of vintage muscle cars, guitars, records, and the freewheeling sixties attitude that defined the era, not to mention rebellion aplenty.

Note From the Author: Being a huge Fab Four enthusiast myself, I couldn't be more thrilled and honored to share Bohemia with Beatles Magazine. This story has been a labor of love and one that has greatly evolved since its inception. In its very early stages, I was grateful for having the opportunity to pass it along to Sir Paul McCartney, since the story incorporated not only his influence, but that of individuals who inspired the both of us: Jack Kerouac, Allen Ginsberg, Bob Dylan, and Chuck Berry, to name a few. Along the way, the story changed and became the one we all know today, though not without the very musical and literary influence that shaped it. With Bohemia, I hope to continue the creative tradition sparked by the cultural revolution of the swinging sixties.
