Paul and Linda McCartney famously attended George Harrison’s Dark Horse Tour concert at Madison Square Garden in New York City on December 20, 1974.
They appeared in disguise, wearing wigs, sunglasses, and fake moustaches to sit in the audience, with photographs capturing the moment, showing them in the crowd.
According to a fan who attended George’s concert, Paul McCartney applauded after every musical piece and the introductions, except during "For You Blue" at the moment of Willie Weeks' intro.
He simply turned toward Linda, and the fan could see that what he was wearing was more than just a wig.
He had on dark glasses and a droopy walrus moustache. Both stayed for "Give Me Love," "Maya Love," "Tomcat," and "Dark Horse." During "While My Guitar Gently Weeps," Paul’s head bobbed along to the rhythm of the song.
Paul and Linda got up and left when Billy Preston had the audience on its feet with "Nothing from Nothing." Several people in the aisle stood up and followed them.
According to the fan's account, some attendees sitting very close to them were able to recognize them.
