BBC SECURES RIGHTS TO NEW BEATLES BIOPIC HAMBURG DAYS

The BBC has officially secured the rights to Hamburg Days, a captivating new six-part biographical drama that explores the formative years of The Beatles.

Set to air on BBC One and stream on iPlayer, this co-production between Turbine Studios, W&B Television, ZDF, and AGC Television transports viewers to the gritty, smoke-filled clubs of Hamburg’s St. Pauli district in the early 1960s.

The series is inspired by the autobiography of Klaus Voormann—who also serves as a consultant—and chronicles the life-changing encounter between the raw Liverpool rock ‘n’ rollers and young visionaries Voormann and Astrid Kirchherr, a meeting that catalyzed their evolution into global icons.

The creative team behind the project features an impressive lineup of industry veterans, including developer Benjamin Benedict, head writer Jamie Carragher (Succession), and showrunner Christian Schwochow (The Crown). Acclaimed director Mat Whitecross, noted for his work with Oasis and Coldplay, will helm the series, while BAFTA-winner David Holmes is set to curate a high-energy soundtrack.
