NEW PAUL McCARTNEY DOC HEADED TO PRIME VIDEO IN 2026

A new documentary focusing on Paul McCartney's solo career following the breakup of The Beatles is set to be released on Prime Video in 2026.

Titled 'Man on the Run,' the film made its worldwide debut at the 2025 Telluride Film Festival

According to an announcement that coincided with the premiere, Amazon MGM Studios has acquired the film, which will first have a limited theatrical run before it becomes available globally on the Prime Video streaming service starting February 25, 2026.

A new documentary about Paul McCartney, titled Man on the Run, has been created by renowned director Morgan Neville, who also helmed the 2013 Oscar-winning film 20 Feet from Stardom. In an effort to capture an authentic portrayal, Neville conducted seven interviews with the music icon and was granted exclusive access to his personal journals and his late wife Linda McCartney's photographs.

The film offers a deeply personal look into McCartney’s life and career following the breakup of The Beatles and the formation of his new band Wings with Linda. It chronicles his journey as a solo artist as he navigates various challenges and forges a new musical identity for himself. Viewers will get to see previously unreleased footage and rare archival material.

This documentary is the first project in a new collaboration between McCartney, Universal Music Group, and Amazon. This partnership will also lead to the release of new music and merchandise over the next year.

Additionally, a previously announced book, Wings: The Story of a Band on the Run, will be released on November 4, available on Amazon : H E R E .

Drawing on a massive collection of more than 500,000 words from countless interviews with Paul McCartney and many of the key people around the band, Wings: The Story of a Band on the Run charts the unbelievable path of McCartney's new group. The book tells the story of how Wings, with founding members Linda McCartney and Denny Laine, navigated the vibrant and colorful decade of the 1970s until the band broke up in 1981.

With more than 100 black-and-white and color photographs, many never seen before, the book "Wings: The Story of a Band on the Run" is part of a larger reexamination and appreciation of the group and their catalog, including the 2024 theatrical release of the rare Wings live-in-studio performance film One Hand Clapping and its accompanying album; 50th anniversary editions of the Wings albums Band on the Run (released February 2024) and Venus and Mars (releasing March 2025).
