Paul McCartney has been working on a new album during his downtime between tours.
His last album was released five years ago, and he'll likely release his new material soon after he finishes it by the end of this year. Additionally, it's very probable that he will start a new tour next year.
Based on recent reports, Paul McCartney is set to have a busy year ahead with a new album and a tour.
According to The Sun, Paul has been working on a new album and is reportedly 90% finished. While the original plan was for a release this year, a source close to the project says the timeline has shifted. The hope is to have the album complete and mastered by the end of the year, with a release date planned for next year. McCartney is said to be very proud of the work he's done.
In addition to the album, Paul McCartney is planning to tour the U.K. next year.
Before that, he has a North American leg of his "Got Back" tour scheduled to run from late September through November.
McCartney recently shared insights into his pre-show routine and the physical toll of performing. He mentioned having a regimented ritual that includes gargling with saltwater and drinking a special Chinese syrup for his throat. He also noted that constantly playing guitar causes callouses on his fingertips, which soften during breaks from touring but quickly harden again when he's back in the studio.
