As is his tradition, Ringo Starr celebrated another year surrounded by family, friends, and fans in Beverly Hills. The festivities included music by Ringo, performed by various musician friends, who entertained the crowd before the traditional "Happy Birthday" song.
Ringo was presented with a decorative three-tier cake adorned with the peace symbol, a hat, and the words "Peace and Love" – a reflection of Ringo's global call for everyone to think, say, or express these sentiments wherever they are at noon.
Major Sharona Nazarian was also in attendance and officially declared today, July 7, 2025, as "Ringo Starr Day" in Beverly Hills.
She said:
"I´m honored to serve as the Major of Beverly Hills - Ringo I have your first official birthday gift, are you ready? It´s not a drum kit or a Yellow Submarine - It´s a little more official. It´s my honor to declare July 7th, 2025 "Ringo Starr Day in Beverly Hills".
Today we celebrate you, your music, your spirit and your message of peace and love that echoes far beyond the stage and today quite literally into space. Not many people can say their birthday includes a countdown and a transmission into the International Space Station.
But then again, not many people are the legendary Ringo Starr here in Beverly Hills your iconic peace sign sculpture on Santa Monica Boulevard stands tall for all to see a symbol of unity, peace, kindness, and calm. A world that we need that so much right now.
So in a world that feels so divided, how beautiful that we can come together right now to celebrate peace, love and Ringo Starr. So on behalf of myself and my colleagues, Vice Mayor Marish, Council Members Corman, Friedman, and Wells, It´s my honor to present you with this proclamation from our city. Thank you so much".
