George Harrison and Eric Clapton, friends and musical partners, owned and played the 1913 guitar.

Now, the guitar used in the legendary songwriting sessions is for sale on Reverb, and the seller is asking for a high sum for “Pattie.”

The seller, Victor's Vault, is located in New Jersey and wrote in the description, "Offered here is one of the most significant surviving acoustic guitars from the late 1960s rock era—an ultra rare 1913 Gibson Style O Acoustic Archtop, affectionately known as Pattie."

“Played/owned by Eric Clapton and George Harrison during their formative songwriting collaborations in 1968, and later owned by Delaney Bramlett, this is a rare and culturally critical guitar directly tied to the end of both The Beatles and Cream, and the birth of their respective solo careers and their earliest songwriting sessions for ‘Badge’, October of 1968 in Los Angeles."

‘Badge’ was a song written by the duo in 1968 and recorded by British rock music group Cream, of which Clapton was the guitarist. A portion of the song was reportedly later used by Harrison for the iconic Beatles song ‘Here Comes The Sun.’

Pattie isn’t the only guitar shared by Harrison and Clapton. In 1968, Clapton gifted Harrison his Cherry Red 1957 Gibson Les Paul, which Clapton then went on to play when tracking his lead guitar work on Harrison’s “While My Guitar Gently Weeps,” from the Beatles’ 1968 White Album.

Lucy, as Harrison named the guitar, was later stolen from Harrison’s home and held for ransom, which led Harrison to launch a televised plea for its safe return. The guitar is now part of Harrison’s guitar collection owned by his family.

In addition, Pattie isn’t the only Harrison guitar Delaney Bramlett owned. At some point Harrison gifted him his 1969 Fender Rosewood Telecaster, famously seen in the Beatles’ Let It Be film and the 2021 documentary series The Beatles: Get Back. Bramlett sold it at auction in 2003, two years after Harrison’s death, where it was purchased for $434,750 by an intermediary for Harrison’s widow, Olivia.
