A series of long-unseen photos and contact sheets of the time when Paul and Linda were together are going up for auction this weekend. Some pretty incredible shots of them with young Stella McCartney along with some candid shots of John Lennon and Yoko Ono. There's also shots of Paul and George at Abbey Road studios.
Bidding is open on the Heritage Auction sale, which features a treasure-trove of rare and some previously unseen images of music legends including Creedence Clearwater Revival, Donovan, Marianne Faithful, Tim Buckley and others shot by renowned music photographer and photojournalist Shepard Sherbell. Some of the items include the original negatives.
Other images from Sherbell's personal collection include images shot by Linda McCartney, such as intimate shots of her husband, Paul McCartney, holding the couple's newborn daughter, Stella McCartney, at King’s College Hospital, London, in September 1971.
Coveted images of Beatles John Lennon, Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr and their wives Yoko Ono, Linda McCartney and Maureen Starkey Tigrett during the Abbey Road sessions in July 1969 were also captured as well as candid shots on the London tube and at the Apple offices during the Abbey Road recording sessions in July 1969.
The auction closes today Dec. 10, 2023. All items come with a certificate of authenticity (COA) from Heritage Auctions, Here.
