Paul McCartney has announced the details of his new podcast McCartney: A Life In Lyrics, which he will present alongside poet Paul Muldoon.
McCartney: A Life In Lyrics, will premiere on September 20, 2023. The podcast will feature McCartney discussing the stories behind some of his most famous songs, from his work in the Beatles and Wings through his solo career. Each episode will focus on a single song, and McCartney will be joined in conversation by poet Paul Muldoon, who wrote the foreword to McCartney's bestselling book, The Lyrics: 1956 to the Present.
The podcast is produced by Pushkin Industries, and it will be available to stream on all major podcast platforms. All 12 episodes of the first season will be available to stream at once with a Pushkin+ membership.
In a trailer for the podcast, McCartney said that he wanted to create a podcast that would "give people a deeper understanding of my songs and the stories behind them." He also said that he wanted to work with Muldoon because he is "a great poet and a great listener."
Muldoon said in the trailer that he was "honored" to be working with McCartney on the podcast, and that he was "looking forward to exploring the depths of his lyrics."
The podcast is sure to be a hit with fans of McCartney and his music. It will be a fascinating opportunity to hear McCartney discuss the creative process behind some of his most iconic songs, and to learn more about his life and influences.
