The saxophonist passed away last year, and had a collection of 38 photos, measuring 5ins by 3.5ins.
Holmes kept hold of the original prints and 12 rolls of film and colour transparencies for 57 years.
Following his death, they were passed on to a friend who is now selling them with Omega Auctions, of Newton-le-Willows, Merseyside.

These fascinating never-seen-photos and the ones especially with copyright are tipped to sell for £5,000.
Dan Hampson, the auction manager said The Beatles snaps that have come to light offers an insight into the fantastic documentary of their life and behind-the-scenes at the height of beatlemania in 1965.
