GEORGE HARRISON SAID NO TO PLAYING GUITAR FOR ROBBIE WILLIAMS’ ANGELS, GUY CHAMBERS REVEALS

Chambers made the reveal in a video that was shared as part of a TikTok trend dubbed the #behindthesong hashtag challenge.
George Harrison was originally approached to play guitar on Robbie Williams’ hit single Angels, producer Guy Chambers has revealed.
In a new Tiktok video breaking down the Angels Pro Tools session, Chambers shared the basic steps that led to the creation of the song before revealing: “I originally asked George Harrison to appear on this track, and sadly he declined”.

The producer did not go deeper into his motivations behind the idea of asking Harrison to play guitar on the track, but did opine that the backing vocals on Angels had a Beatle-esque quality, explaining,  “They give it this choir-like, Beatle-like, Elton John-like glow. There’s also a bit of the Beach Boys”.

The video was shared as part of a TikTok trend dubbed the #behindthesong hashtag challenge, which sees music makers on the platform explaining how music is made. The hashtag has racked up over 2.1 billion views as of the time of writing, with artists like Charlie Puth, Miranda Lambert and more sharing the process behind the making of their songs.
