"The Lyrics: Paul McCartney in Conversation" will be held at Yale's Woolsey Hall from 7- 8:30 p.m. on Feb. 16. McCartney will talk about his new book "The Lyrics: 1956 to the Present" in "unparalleled candor," The Yale Schwarzman Center's website stated. Pulitzer Prize-winning poet Paul Muldoon and Yale English Professor Langdon Hammer will join McCartney in the discussion.
In the book, McCartney discusses elements of his life and career "through the prism" of 154 of his songs.
"The Lyrics encompasses McCartney's earliest boyhood compositions through the legendary decade of The Beatles, to Wings and his solo albums to the present," The Yale Schwarzman Center's website stated. "Presented with this is a treasure trove of never-seen-before material from McCartney’s personal archive – drafts, letters, photographs."
A high public demand for tickets caused Yale Connect, Yale's ticketing system, to shut down on Feb. 8, but a new date and time for public sales will be set "soon."
