In a new episode of The Rolling Stones BBC documentary ‘My Life as a Rolling Stone,’ Keith Richards confessed that the band was envious of The Beatles, as shared by Secrets of Rock.

The Rolling Stones has considerably impacted the rock scene since its first appearance in the music industry in 1962. The band’s 60-year music career has included many albums, hit songs, and massive tours. Their great tracks like ‘Gimme Shelter‘ and ‘Paint It, Black‘ reached a broad audience worldwide. The group’s pieces have appeared in various series and movies from the past.

The band earned massive recognition with the debut album ‘Aftermath,’ considered an artistic breakthrough for them. The members mixed the elements of blues, soul, and rock and roll in this album. They proved to the world how creative and talented they were in what they created. The group started to have positive reviews in the United States and the United Kingdom. Their success continued non-stop throughout their long time journey in the music scene.

They have gained massive attention from the audiences and other impactful musicians. As notable rockers have influenced other acts, the band also took inspiration from other significant names in the music scene. Also, there was a name that the band was jealous of their place in the music scene while they were in the position many musicians wanted to be.

Recently, Keith Richards revealed that the group was jealous of The Beatles’ appearance in the music industry. Richards stated in the documentary that The Rolling Stones were envious of The Beatles as they were able to produce the music they wanted to make successfully. He pointed out that The Beatles had a special place in the music scene. The guitarist mentioned that without The Beatles, it was impossible to talk about the existence of The Rolling Stones.

Keith Richards said about The Beatles:

“We were just envious too, man. They’re doing what we want. They got it. They can make records; The Holy Grail was to make records, to be able to get into a studio. It was like diamonds. You think that it was a gold mine which, in a way, there was. But you think you were invading Fort Knox to make a record. Without The Beatles, The Stones would never have been there. The reason that Stones existed or got made records was because the record industry couldn’t afford to lose another Beatles.”
