When the Easy A actor called in a favor from Paul to design her tattoo, Paul followed it up with a swift reply. He took the time to design Stone’s tattoo, and it has a special meaning that’s even tied to him.
Later, Stone returned the favor by collaborating on a special project. She starred in the music video for Paul’s song, “Who Cares.”
In 2010, Stone spoke to David Letterman about getting touching tattoos with her mother to help celebrate her mom being cancer-free. Her mother’s favorite song is The Beatles’ “Blackbird.” So Stone had a genius idea. She called Paul himself and asked if he would design the tattoos.
“We’ve never gotten tattoos before and probably never will again,” Stone told Letterman. “Two years ago tomorrow she got diagnosed with breast cancer, and she’s out of the woods now, which is amazing.
Ten years after she got her tattoo, Stone told Jimmy Fallon that it had somehow enlarged. She said her whole family got the tattoo. So, it’s not just a touching connection between her and her mother.
Her tattoo, which started as thin bird feet, has swelled for some reason. Stone is under the impression that it’ll bleed out into a black blob on her wrist eventually.
Still, Stone appreciates what Paul did for her so much that she returned the favor in 2018.
