AFTER 50 YEARS, "LIFE" MAGAZINE (WITH BEATLES ON COVER) RETURNED TO LIBRARY

A library patron didn’t just spend a day in the Life magazine with the Beatles on the cover.

An edition of the Sept. 13, 1968, magazine has been returned to Cuyahoga County Public Library this week ... and it didn’t just disappear yesterday. It was more than 50 years overdue.

Along with the magazine was a letter in which the “borrower” admits to stealing it as a child from the Parma Ridge Road branch in 1968.

The letter apologizes for the theft and includes a check for $100 for the late fee.

The library didn’t twist and shout about the theft, instead deciding to let it be with a tongue-in-cheek post up on its Facebook page and a photo of the magazine and the check.

“To the #Beatles fan who ‘borrowed’ this copy of Life magazine in 1968: Thank you for returning it this week and clearing your conscience,” the post says.

The magazine is a collectible ... listings on ebay for a copy in good condition are priced at about $50.
