It's been a big hit with fans for more than 40 years. Liverpool had to learn long ago it couldn’t keep The Beatles to itself.
As the Fab Four charmed the world and went on to global superstardom, tributes to John , Paul, George and Ringo started springing up thousands of miles from where it all began in Mathew Street.
And while we can boast the Beatles Story, the Cavern Club , the Cavern Pub, Lennon’s bar and all that comes with it here in Liverpool, there is another bar that’s been successfully celebrating our boys for more than 40 years. it’s almost 900 miles away.
La Garrafa dels Beatles was opened in Barcelona in 1976 by a pair of Catalan Beatles fans by the name of Joan and Ricky.
From the outside, other than a small homage to the band above the door, it looks like any other unit on the Carrer de Joan Guell.
Every inch of wall space is taken up with memorabilia connected to the band, accumulated by the owners over the past 41 years.
What’s more, every night at 12.30am, you’ll hear a live tribute to the Beatles from the staff.
