50th ANNIVERSARY OF ‘SGT. PEPPER’S LONELY HEART CLUB BAND’

Back in 1967, the Beatles released what would become one of the most legendary and iconic albums in the history of music: Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band.
On June 1, the album will celebrate its 50th anniversary, a special image shared by the Beatles’ social media pages on Friday:

Those with an innate familiarity with the album’s artwork will notice that that specific arrangement of colors corresponds to the outfits worn by John, Ringo, Paul, and George in the image:

Of course, two timeless Beatles songs that were infamously released as a double A-side rather than be included on the album were “Penny Lane” and “Strawberry Fields Forever,” a decision that was made after some influence by EMI.
