NEW EXHIBITION "WHEN THE BEATLES ROCKED TORONTO" AT THE MARKET GALLERY

An interesting exhibit opened Saturday at the Market Gallery, celebrating the 50th anniversary of the 1966 shows. It features some wonderful treasures: Beatles-brand pantyhose; a Ringo-shaped bubble bath dispenser; photos of the insanity at the Gardens and the jam-packed press conferences. There is a rare copy of Yesterday and Today, the Beatles’ 1966 North American LP, featuring the “butcher cover”,posters promoting the 1966 shows at the Gardens.

The exhibit offers a version of what it claims was a typical 1966 basement rec room, the centrepiece being a gigantic lime-green leather sectional.
