Ringo knows “It Don’t Come Easy” — especially his recent induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a solo artist.
“It was about time, and thank you,” Ringo tells the Daily News.
He had been in the Hall of Fame with The Beatles since 1988, but was
the last member of the band to get recognition for his solo work when he
was inducted in April.
“I was in there, as we all were, as the Beatles, but I was the last one
to get in as a solo artist,” Ringo says. “Apart from that I thought it
was great. I thought it was a great honor — thank you, Lord! — for
something I do really well, which is drum.”
Ringo, who will play the Kings Theater in Brooklyn with his All Starr
Band on Halloween night, hasn’t lost too much sleep over the delay
though — he hasn’t had time to.

Besides touring the U.S., Mexico, and South America since February,
Ringo also released his 18th solo album, “Postcards From Paradise,” in
March, and published “Photograph,” a collection of his personal
pictures, last month.
Ringo, who turned 75 in July, has an envious energy level. “I work out. I’ve been in this town two days and I’ve been to the gym
twice,” he says while on a tour stop in Victoria, British Columbia. “I
go to the gym every day and I watch what I eat. There’s no real secret,
you just have to work at it.”
He also doesn’t waste energy procrastinating. “I’ve always had that
energy that if I’m going to do something, then I do it,” he says. “I
don’t think, ‘Oh God, I don’t want do it.’ If I’ve said yes — and I have
that privilege of saying yes or no to things — but if I say yes, then I
do it.”
