Letter from The Beatles that was sent to The Crickets was recently re-discovered in Nashville,
Freda Kelly recently visited the Musicians Hall of Fame in Nashville and
happened to see this letter. She says: "It was typed by me in 1963, as
you can see by the reference at the top of the letter (PMC/FK) – Paul
asked me to type it. The text isn’t that legible but it reads as
follows:
Dear Crickets,
When we were rehearsing for a TV show
the other day, we met someone who had known you during your recent trip
to England, and they told us how you had complimented us. We also heard
from EMI in London that you had a copy of our record. Well, we’d just
like to say that this is a great compliment and appreciate it very much.
Yours sincerely,
THE BEATLES
Yours sincerely,
THE BEATLES
Paul came into the office the next day to sign the typed letter and the other Beatles came in later and also signed it. When I told the managers of the Musicians Hall of Fame about the above story, they asked me to sign the letter."
