Krab Jab Studio was given the opportunity to exhibit eight artists – Tim Bruckner, Alfred Paredes, Michael Defeo, James Shoop, Colin Pool, Kristine Pool, Conny Valentina, Dan Chudzinski – along with the photography of May Pang in a show dedicated to the music of John.
Nearly all of the artists work in the toy and entertainment industry,
creating model kits or doing concept work for companies like Disney
Studios or DC Comics, and all of them are great fans of John’s work,
each setting out to express their love of the music, be it wistfully
nostalgic or cheekily humorous. Added to this mix is photographer May
Pang, best known for being John’s partner during his “Lost Weekend”
period of the 1970s. During that time period May took photos of life
with John, many of which were published in her book “Instamatic Karma!”.
Nine of these wonderful images are included in this show.
Included especially for the Lennon fans is a wall of memorabilia, which includes a drawing by artist Chris Hopkins, Beatles items, and a very special photograph from the Sgt Peppers era.
Our Artist Talk will commence at 7:30 pm, with Tim Bruckner and May Pang in attendance.
