MODERN MANSION WITH A BEATLES CONNECTION

Blue Jay is set within the grounds of former royal residence Claremont House Gardens in Surrey, according to developer Richard Bellman .
The ground floor of the 13,000-square-foot house includes a large living room, library, cinema, study, dining room, kitchen, pool area and staff accommodations. “New-build houses around London in this price range are almost inevitably neoclassical Georgian,” says Mr. Bellman. “Lovely as that is, we feel it’s been done to death and it’s time to move on.”
The home is surrounded by about an acre of walled gardens, part of the Claremont House Estate, which was bought by Queen Victoria as a wedding present for her son Prince Leopold.

“Some people mistrust contemporary house design because they associate it with minimalism and towering spaces,” says Mr. Bellman. “We’ve focused on space which has the wow, but is also cozy, livable and intimate.”
