It was fifty years ago that Beatlemania descended upon East Anglia as thousands queued for tickets to see the Fab Four in concert. In 1964 Anglia Television joined the crowds outside the Gaumont Cinema in Ipswich as fans waited in line.

In an interview at the time with Anglia Television, John denied rumours that he was leaving the band,Ringo told how he got his nickname and Paul tried his hand as a television reporter.

Celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Beatles film 'A Hard Day's Night,' later in November the venue, which is now the Regent Theatre, is hosting 'The Magic of the Beatles'.It's a production retracing their live shows and the Beatlemania which followed them wherever they went.
