PaulMcCartney.com – Now We Are New!
Hello and welcome to the updated PaulMcCartney.com,
Last week we told you of improvements coming to the website. We are pleased to say we have now taken that first step.
The biggest improvement is the change of the technology running
PaulMcCartney.com. A good way of thinking about this is to imagine
replacing the engine in a car; it's still the same vehicle, but it now
runs a lot smoother. The update includes adding responsive design
to the website, meaning it will now adjust itself automatically to
display in the best possible way for the device you are using to browse
the internet.
But that's not the only improvement. We have also begun refreshing
how the website looks. Below is a short description of some of the
bigger changes you will notice on PaulMcCartney.com. We appreciate that
reading through long pieces of text is not always the most interesting
way to spend your day, so each point is illustrated with a short video.
MUSIC PLAYER:
The new music player allows you to listen to Paul’s music
uninterrupted as you browse. We have added a new recording of ‘New’ from
Paul’s visit to the Tokyo Dome last November as a bonus track. We will
be adding more interesting audio to the player so remember to keep
checking back!
Here’s how to use the music player:
CALENDAR:
One of the biggest tasks we set ourselves with the update was to make
it easier for Paul’s fans to rediscover exciting stories from his past.
We therefore decided to build an ‘On This Day’ calendar along the
bottom of the front page. On there you will find news stories reaching
back to 2005, plus album release and touring details from the whole of
Paul’s post-Beatles career.
In the coming months we will be adding all kinds of information and fun facts from Paul’s history to the calendar.
Here’s a quick guide on how to use it:
SHARING:
One of the coolest things about the Internet is how easy it is to
share your interests, and recommendations from friends are how we come
across many of our favourite websites.
With this in mind we wanted to make sharing content from Paul’s website easier.
Here’s a video on how to share your favourite PaulMcCartney.com pages with your friends:
FEEDBACK BUTTON:
We have added a new feedback button and want to hear your thoughts on
everything! Let us know what you think of the update; how you find
using the site; what you would like to see on it. Think you’ve found a
mistake somewhere? Get in touch and let us know!
Watch the video below to see how to leave your feedback:
Those are a selection of highlights on the updated site, but they
are by no means the only changes we’ve made. Please take a look around
and let us know what you think in the comments below, on the Maccaboard or using the new feedback button!
And best of all, there will be lots more exciting features coming
your way, so please do remember to keep coming back to check them out.
All the best!
