Come
and share in a night of Tribute, Nostalgia and Remembrance dedicated to
the memory of the Legendary Promoter who brought us not only The
Beatles, The Rascals, and many more notable and prolific Recording
Artists, but who was also fondly known as “The Father of The British
Invasion” and the Visionary who implemented many ‘Firsts’ in the Modern
Concert Industry.
Join us as we reminisce and highlight some of the many accomplishments
that Sid pioneered during his tenure as an Agent, Promoter and Manager.
Enjoy some of the Music of the era Sid helped to usher in, as performed
by an array of talented Artists near and dear to Sid, and whom he and
his creative associates had guided in his later years with us,
featuring: Deirdre Broderick, Bob Bisaccia, Larry Russell’s BeatleStock
and The Myles Mancuso Band, among other Special Guests to be announced.
Share the memories of selected Industry Champions as we preview excerpts
from the Documentary classic of his storied life, “Sid Bernstein
Presents…” – and hear first hand from Sid, himself, about his foray into
the world of The Beatles, and the conversations he had with Brian
Epstein regarding the booking of the Carnegie Hall shows and the
engagements of The Beatles at Shea Stadium.
If it were not for Sid’s persistent overseas phone calls to Brian
Epstein in 1963 to discuss bringing The Beatles to America, the music
industry as we know it today might have been totally different. An
agreement on a simple “handshake” across the pond changed the music
industry forever.
Sid, who passed away on August 21, 2013 at the age of 95, helped shape
the careers of some of the greatest and most popular celebrities of our
time.
He not only single-handedly brought The Beatles to America, Sid also brought us The (Young) Rascals, and promoted or managed many more exceptional artists including Tony Bennett,The Rolling Stones, Fats Domino, Tito Puente, Judy Garland, Frank Sinatra, Jimi Hendrix, Laura Branigan, Sly & the Family Stone, The Dave Clark Five, The Kinks, The Moody Blues, Herman’s Hermits, The Zombies, Eric Burdon and The Animals, Gerry and the Pacemakers, Blood, Sweat & Tears, The Blues Project, Miles Davis, Ray Charles, and many others. This will be a Night to remember and an Evening of sincere Tribute and Love of the kind Sidney shared with all he knew and met along the path of his recent journey.
