Anglo-American Heidi Jo Hines met Londoner Ian Montlake at an open mic
in Camden town, after asking if anyone in the audience could play the
guitar. Ian got on stage, and they jammed in true rock n roll style as
if they’d known each other for years .Instantly there was a musical
chemistry which led to them forming their first band together.
They played venues such as the 100 club, The Underworld, Dublin Castle,
Proud Gallery and the Pop Overthrow festival at Liverpool’s famous
Cavern. In the summer of 2010 they sealed two slots at the Rhythm
festival in Bedfordshire, playing the main & alternative stages
which they received a brilliant review for with Altsounds. At the end of
the year they played a private party at Scar studios Camden which saw
them reel in fans from the set of the new Pirates of the Caribbean movie
with whom they had met at a one of their previous shows at Camden Rock.
Their first demo was so highly received that many online and local FM
stations put them on their top playlists. Sue Marchant from BBC radio
Cambridgeshire was one of the first to play their single Cruel.
Preparing to record their debut album the band met producer Chuck Sabo
through a friend. He was so impressed with the band that he agreed to
produce their album which they called ‘Nine Days’ which incidentally
took 9 days to record. The album received a great review published in
Classic Rock Magazine .
Their first gig of the year was a support slot for ‘Heavens Basement’
at the Underworld in Camden, where they met a DJ from Total Rock Radio
who asked for a promo to play on his show. On June 1st they held their
Album Preview Party at Heroes in Kentish town which went down a storm
.Producer Pedro Ferreira (Darkness)came to see them and was so
impressed, he invited them in to record one of their tracks Time for the
truth. in 2013 Earthprayer's line up changed with new members, bass
player Max Edwards ,Drummer Nicola Barchiesi and Keyboard player Gonzalo
Carrera (a friend and former band mate of Heidis' who along with Heidi
played the Classic Rock Society and recorded a song which was written
by Dave Winstanley with Heidi on vocals, Gonzalo on keys Hugh McDowell
(ELO) on cello and Denny Laine (Wings/Moody blues) on guitar, to raise
funds for the Classic Rock Society. Earth Prayer signed with Respectable Artists' Geoff Eaton for management and licensing. Earth Prayer are looking forward to releasing their next EP through Respectable Records and distributed using Universal/Interscope's distribution chain.
