Radio 2 DJs Interview Their Heroes for BBC Children in Need
Leading
DJs from BBC Radio 2 have interviewed their personal heroes in a series
of special podcasts for BBC Children in Need. In the collection Jeremy
Vine talks with Katie Piper, while Steve Wright speaks with Jeremy
Paxman and Ken Bruce interviews racing car legend Stirling Moss.
Breakfast presenter Chris Evans chose to speak with Sir Paul McCartney,
while Vanessa Feltz chats candidly with Lulu. Completing the line-up,
Simon Mayo interviews not one, but two heroes, speaking with American
broadcaster, Larry King and historian Neil Oliver. With the presenters
asked to choose their own heroes for the features, the downloadable
interviews provide insights into both the DJs and the interviewees as
they talk about the highs and lows of their personal lives and careers.
Breakfast
Host Chris Evans also took the opportunity to interview his life- long
hero; Sir Paul McCartney. Listeners can hear Chris ask Sir Paul about
his childhood, how despite all of his fame he has managed to stay so
grounded, and what words of inspiration he has for young people today.
