Hand-signed memorabilia from the Beatles, particularly the late
John and George, get more and more rare every year. That
only makes events featuring them more and more special.
Such an event returns again this year as WZLX presents the Beatles Art Show and Sale on Saturday, July 6.
The four-day exhibit will display plenty of classic artwork from the
Beatles’ career, namely lithographs and animation cells from the Yellow Submarine movie. Many of these pieces will be hand-signed by the Beatles themselves. Every single piece will be up for sale.
The main event of the exhibit, however, is famed Beatles artist Ron Campbell, who was an animator for Yellow Submarine
and the ABC Saturday morning Beatles cartoon series. He will hold a
live demonstration of his work, as well as sell many of his best works.
Ron Campbell is the last living member of the team that put together
the great Beatle cartoons on the 1960′s. Having also worked as an
animator on the Yellow Submarine movie, Mr. Campbell has lots of stories
about both and shares those stories without hesitation. He is a brilliant and talented artist who greets every fan with
respect.
Other artwork available will be signed photos from Linda McCartney,
drawings from Al Hirschfeld, a rare piece from original Beatles bassist
Stuart Sutcliffe and much more, according to a press release about the
event.
