PAUL: SOUNDCHECK (2ND NIGHT) - BARCLAYS CENTER, NY - PHOTOS & REPORT

                                                                                           Report:Bob Gannon to BEATLES MAGAZINE

The crowd was a tad bit smaller than Saturday night but no less fun as great songs and silliness prevailed on this night. Highlights from the soundcheck were of course Paul dedicating "San Francisco Bay Blues" to long time Macca VIP Shelley Lazar who danced down the aisles all night along with the fans. Before he began playing the song he just kept repeating "Shelley Lazar's name and then started the song. As Shelley danced down the aisle towards the stage with Paul looking on, Paul bust into his own little dance move with guitar slinged to the side. Early on, Paul read a sign that read "It's my 81st birthday" so Paul read it out loud and said "Well, it's my birthday too...yeah!!!". The soundcheck group then began to sing Happy Birthday to Paul who was very animated, pretending to blush and gush over the attention. He then gave the crowd a thumbs up as he walked to the piano. Another highlight was Paul playing "Whole Lotta Shaking" where he really played a blistering piano! He also threw in "It's so Easy" for good measure and towards the end singing "It's so squeezy". As he grabbed his ukulele, I decided to once again yell out "Big Barn Bed" to which he laughed and played "Leaning on the lamp post" and then "Ram On" and I figured that was the two allotted Ukulele songs but then began strumming the opening bars to "Big Barn Bed" which most of the group immediately recognized and began cheering.
He then played a full version of the song which had more band participation. Hopefully they are working on it for future inclusion! If not, heck, I got to see it down and it made my night even before the show. At one point, Paul was fooling around with a guitar piece while the band stood by and said "It's an Avant Garde piece". He then began talking in jibberish and said "Be quiet Yoko" which drew a laugh from the crowd. I couldn't catch the rest of the dialogue but it was definitely a funny moment. Also, a cry from the crowd for "Silly Love Songs" to which Paul stated "If I could remember it!" The fan then yelled "We sing it with you". Paul then responded "You think you remember it......BUT YOU DON'T!". The crowd then laughed as Paul added "We'll play it one day...long pause.....but not today!! Here's the set-list:
