Live Nation will hold a press conference Monday where it is expected the
concert promoter will confirm one, possibly two, concerts by Paul in early July at Scotiabank Place.
If so, this will be the first musical performance by Paul in Ottawa’s history. John was in Ottawa in the early 1970s when he met with then Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau during his famous bed-in at a Montreal hotel.
The news will be announced at 6 p.m. Monday by Ottawa Mayor Jim Watson. It’s unusual for the mayor to make a concert announcement.
Paul is on an extensive world tour called Out There. He is scheduled to perform on July 9 in Boston, Mass. and an Ottawa date could fit in just before that.
