Julian Lennon will be coming to Gibraltar at some time this year to visit the exhibition.
Gustavo Bacarisas Galleries in Casemates will be the home of a
unique and personal international exhibition ‘Beatles memorabilia - the
Julian Lennon Collection’ which opens to the public on Thursday. The
official opening will be undertaken by the Chief Minister Fabian Picardo
tomorrow. The exhibition holds items, photographs and personal accounts
from Lennon’s first son and first wife Cynthia. It takes the viewer on a
memorable journey of their story with one of the icons of the modern
age, John Lennon, with many of the items associated with him and The
Beatles brought together for the White Feather Foundation created by his
son, Julian Lennon.
Julian Lennon, who has been collecting memorabilia for the
past 20 years says he is delighted that the exhibition has come to this
beautiful venue in Gibraltar.
He told the Chronicle, “the collection is very personal to me and I’m pleased that my mother, Cynthia, and I can share our story with everyone.”
The exhibition is expected to be in Gibraltar until the end of the year and Julian will be here to see it but details of his visit have not been released yet.
Although he did confirm, “I plan to visit Gibraltar soon and am very much looking forward to it.”
This exhibition first staged in UK, steps out of the UK, for the first time and has been brought to Gibraltar by the Awesome Premier Events Ltd and Copywrite.
The Chronicle was given a access to the exhibition with some 200 items on display… take the journey today in ‘Lennon from Liverpool’.
