THE BEATLES PERFORMED IN WESTON-SUPER-MARE IN 1963, AND AUTOGRAPHS WILL BE SOLD IN AN AUCTION

The Fab Four spent a week in the town, performing at the Odeon twice a night.
Very little exists from their visit, aside from a few publicity photos, shaky home movies and some press reports.

The Beatles in Weston in July 1963.

But one Weston resident found an autograph book in a safe during a house clearance.
Inside are autographs from comedy acts and cabaret singers, along with those of Paul McCartney, John Lennon, Ringo Starr and George Harrison.
The autographs were likely collected from the back of the Odeon, or the Royal Pier Hotel, where they stayed.
Auctioneer Andrew Stowe said: “It’s exactly what collectors are after – all the signatures are on separate pages, with no other autographs on the back of them.
“These are amazing examples, with a good local connection.”
The book is expected to sell for £1,000-1,500 in the auction at East Bristol Auction’s two-day sale tomorrow (Thursday) and Friday.
