Steve Martin performed the opening monologue to the
'SNL' 40th anniversary special, and he was the perfect person for it,
according to him. Though, there was a lot of celebrity talent joining
them.
From Melissa McCarthy to Miley Cyrus, this was one major
assemblage of celebrity talent.
Bringing up the rear were Paul McCartney and Paul Simon.
Though the McCartney would later perform “Maybe I’m Amazed” on the SNL
stage, the two did an impromptu duet of The Beatles’ “I’ve Just Seen a
Face.” “Told you we should have done 'Sounds of Silence,’” joked Simon.
