STELLA MCCARTNEY PRESENTS ICONIC COLLECTION FOR C&A IN BRAZIL

Stella McCartney, international guest of this year’s Sao Paulo Fashion Week, has launched her 2014 summer collection for the affordable clothing chain C&A.
Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, the designer explained that the collection includes iconic pieces of her career.
Stella said that the collection represents “a lot of the language of Stella” and is composed of versatile clothing for the modern woman who needs appropriate clothes for daily wear for night as well as day.
McCartney defined her vision of fashion as extremely feminine, saying that as she identified a lot with the public her designs were intended to help women feel comfortable in the clothes while also looking attractive.

She added that her image of Brazilian culture is of it being “cool and sexy” although, in her opinion, sensuality is more a reflection of the state of one’s mind while wearing the clothes.
This is the designer’s second collection for C&A.
According to Stella, nature and the seasons are very important and must be reflected in fashion.
With regards to the collaboration of the luxury Stella brand with the “fast fashion” C&A brand, the British designer said that while her label brings its characteristic refined and sophisticated cut, the Brazilian association provides more women with the opportunity to access unique pieces and design.

“I think what we have done here is a good example of what we can do with fast fashion. I think they will last you longer than normal fast-fashion,” said Stella, explaining that, “For me, it’s about doing fast-fashion in a way that just slows it down a little bit.”
McCartney’s designs for C&A are a combination of sensual and feminine elements as well as masculine and more structured pieces.
The collection has a palette of light colors such as nude (skin), beige and white but also includes black and white combinations, ever-present in Stella collections.
Suits with short and close-fitting jackets in light fabrics represent the designer’s ideal world, “the kiss of the feminine and the masculine,” as she defined it.
The collection also includes trousers and gold lurex tops as well as masculine shirts in crepe and sheer fabrics.

But the “hit” of the collection was the iconic white dress with McCartney’s trademark black sides which has been worn by actresses and the rich and famous around the world.
