FLAMING LIPS REUNITE WITH YOKO ONO FOR COVER OF JOHN "HAPPY XMAS(WAR IS OVER)"

A few weeks ago, The Flaming Lips released their 14th studio album With aLittle Help from My Fwends, a full-length tribute to the Beatles' Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, and today, Nov. 20, the psych-rockers have shared another tribute: a cover of John Lennon and Yoko Ono's Christmas classic "Merry Xmas (War is Over)," which you can check out below. As can be expected from Wayne Coyne and his crew, the track is a psychedelic reinterpretation of Lennon and Ono's original, replacing the acoustic guitars with synthesizers, and even features Ono herself on backing vocals.
You can check out The Flaming Lips' cover of John Lennon and Yoko Ono's "Merry Xmas (War is Over)" featuring Yoko Ono right here:

The Flaming Lips' version of "Merry Xmas" is featured on Amazon's All is Bright Christmas playlist, which is available for free download to Amazon Prime customers. The playlist is a collection of 43 songs, both original and traditional, from artists such as Lucinda Williams, Liz Phair, Amanda Palmer, the Tom Tom Club, and more.
This track isn't the first time that the Flaming Lips have collaborated with Yoko Ono: they recorded an EP together back in 2011, which was part of their series of EPs that were later compiled on the album, The Flaming Lips and Heady Fwends.
