Ron Campbell, one of the main animators for
the Beatles’ “Yellow Submarine,” will appear in Pittsburgh next month
as part of an art show celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Fab
Four’s lone local visit.
Campbell, who also directed the Beatles’ Saturday
morning TV cartoons, will be part of “The Beatles Fine Art Show &
Sale” Sept. 5-7 in the lobby of the Renaissance Pittsburgh Hotel
downtown.
The event will include a visual history of the
Beatles, featuring rare hand-signed artwork created by John Lennon, Paul
McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr, as well as Beatle fine art
photographs, Beatles animation and more.
Show hours are 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sept. 5-6, and 11
a.m. to 6 p.m. Sept. 7. Admission is free, and works will be available
to purchase.
The show is part of “Beatles Week” events in
Pittsburgh orchestrated by Pat DiCesare, promoter of the Beatles’ Sept.
14, 1964, Civic Arena concert.
