Interview done Oct. 11 in English with the German TV network ZDF to promote his “New” album.
Paul to German TV network ZDF(interview done
Oct 11):“I'm going to Japan next, in November, so I kind of got some
touring booked for the new album, but I think we'll come to
Germany,Europe,UK, I haven't been to UK either in a little while– but it
might be good to come next year. I'd like it”
Paul: “Even if I want to escape the influences of the Beatles, it's impossible because that's where I learned everything. And so I don't really think about it. I just write a song and record it. And sometimes, maybe those too sound like they could have been Beatles tracks. But that's not a bad thing for me, you know. I think the Beatles made some pretty good records.”
“While I was making the music for the ballet in New York, I was having a great time, but I was thinking it would be nice when I get back to writing some new songs. And then when I was doing the standards ("Kisses on the Bottom"), which were old songs mostly ... I was in my dad's world, which is beautiful, I love it. It's very emotional for me because it's the music of my parents' generation. But at the same time, I was thinking, 'Can't wait to make a new album.'”
