A rare photo book signed by Beatles legend John Lennon has reportedly sold on eBay. The book, a copy of Lennon's book In His Own Write, appeared on the auction site earlier this month and quickly racked up 46 bids, totaling out at $5,600.
The book was published in 1964 via Simon and Schuster and features a collection of short stories,
photos, collages and anecdotes from Lennon. It was, in fact, the first
solo material of any sort released by any of the Beatles.
The item drew extra special attention in the auction as the author claims that it was not only autographed by John, but also an ultra-rare first printing of the book. The author also claims that most of the autographed copies were issued at a signing on April 24, 1964, but most of those were third editions.
