A DAY IN THE LIFE OF THE BEATLES

  • 1969: Recording: Come Together, Sun King, Mean Mr Mustard,Studio Three, EMI Studios, Abbey Road,Producer: George Martin, Engineers: Geoff Emerick, Phil McDonald
  • 1968: Recording: Hey Jude,Studio Two, EMI Studios, Abbey Road,Engineer: Ken Scott, George Martin was unavailable for this session, which saw work begin on The Beatles' next single Hey Jude. Six takes, which were closer to rehearsals than proper attempts, were recorded between 8.30pm and 4am in Abbey Road's Studio Two.

  • 1967: George Harrison returns to England from Greece,
    George, his wife Pattie and Mal Evans returned to England from Greece on this day, to prepare for a trip to Los Angeles. They had been in Greece to visit an island which they intended to purchase. The deal never came to fruition, however.The Harrisons flew to America on 1 August 1967.

  • 1957: Paul McCartney goes to Scout cam,
    Three weeks after first meeting John Lennon, Paul McCartney and his brother Michael went to Scout camp at Hathersage in Derbyshire.
    The trip was just a few days after McCartney was invited to join the Quarrymen by band member Pete Shotton. The offer was accepted, but the camp trip and a subsequent family holiday at Butlins in Filey, Yorkshire meant he missed the group's first concert at the Cavern Club on 7 August.
