The McCartney clan gather to celebrate Stella’s birthday with an intimate dinner... and Coldplay's Chris Martin comes too
She has one of the most famous
families in the world, so it’s no surprise that Stella McCartney might
chose to hold a low-key dinner party on her birthday.
But why not add another incredibly famous musician onto the exclusive guest list?
Coldplay’s
Chris Martin was one of the chosen few guests that fashion designer
41-year-old Stella decided to invite to her intimate celebration at
Cecconi restaurant last night (Thursday).
Fabulous at 41: Stella McCartney celebrated in style last night (Thursday) at Cecconi's restaurant in London
Beetles legend: Sir Paul McCartney arrived at the dinner with his wife Nancy Shevell
The dinner was held at the
Mayfair Italian restaurant, where Stella was also joined by her husband
Alasdhair Willis, brother James McCartney, father Sir Paul McCartney and
his wife Nancy Shevell.
Stella wore all-black to her birthday party, choosing to wear a simple jacket and a chic pleather skirt with high heels.
Perhaps
styled by his famous wife, Alasdhair looked dapper in a white shirt and
grey jumper combination with a fitted nude jacket.
Stella’s
musician brother James was spotted heading into the restaurant with a
large Harrods bag which was likely to be a gift for his older sister.
Elegant clutch bag: Stella carried a sophisticated black clutch as she arrived at the restaurant to celebrate
Gift? James McCartney arrived at Cecconi's restaurant with a gift for his older sister
Looking younger than his 70-years, Sir Paul McCartney looked cheerful as he arrived at the dinner with his wife Nancy.
He wore an unbuttoned white shirt with smart black trousers and a matching fitted jacket for the intimate bash.
Nancy chose to wear slim denim jeans and lengthened her small frame with black strapped high heels.
She also donned a sparkly top with an elegant scarf draped around her neck, and carried a large white handbag.
Noticeably
absent at the beginning of the festivities were Stella’s sister,
photographer Mary McCartney and her husband, film director Simon Aboud.
The couple were reportedly running late and eventually joined the family to continue the celebration.
Cool: Sir Paul McCartney looked cool, calm and collected as he walked past photographers into the party
Chris Martin looked fashionable in a black suit with a fitted waistcoat and grey shirt.
But
unfortunately he tainted the otherwise perfect outfit by wearing a pair
of purple trainers that looked more suited to a session in the gym than
an elegant party.
Chart-topping star Chris recently performed with his band Coldplay at the Paralympics Closing Ceremony.
The band performed a 15-song set, including Princess of China, their duet with superstar singer Rihanna.
Sharleen
Spiteri of Scottish band Texas was also spotted entering the restaurant
and was thought to be joining the McCartney’s for their family
celebration.
